Iden Versio is the playable character, and DICE appears intent on showing a structured, coherent perspective of the Empire’s objectives, and why it so aggressively battles the Rebellion for control of the galaxy.ĮA has confirmed that Battlefront 2‘s story is indeed canon, meaning we could see more of Iden in films and other Star Wars media over the years. In the trailer we can see the second Death Star exploding, as was the case at the end of ROTJ.įrom the dialogue in the trailer we can gather that our main “protagonist”, or playable character, or whatever you want to call her, is fighting for the Empire, and aims to avenge the Emperor.
We know a few details about the story, including that it takes place immediately after Return Of The Jedi. We will indeed be getting a single-play campaign with a fully fleshed story, something fans have been crying out for since Battlefront was first revealed to be getting the reboot treatment at DICE HQ. Last weekend proved to be every Battlefront fans dream come true, with a plethora of new information about the sequel coming out of Star Wars Celebration in Orlando, Florida.Īmong one of the biggest tidbits to come out of the event about the game is that its campaign will be canon, and you’ll be taking on the role of an Imperial soldier. It’s not known what will be included in the trial, but one can assume a small section of the single-player campaign, and the multiplayer offerings, up to 10 hours worth.
